We’ve all seen coaches get doused with Gatorade after winning a championship, or a celebratory dunk over the crossbar after a touchdown. These moves are not just overplayed, they’re so 2008. We started off being sponsored by a bread company for a couple years. We lost that sponsor a few years ago. Since most of the guys are pretty laid back and don’t take ourselves too seriously the name just stuck.

Brussels Sprouts International – sent in anonymously. Below are details from the anonymous person.
Team Finlande’s (rather funny name isn’t it?) origin in Belgium goes back to early 90’s and to a group of Finnish journalists accredited to Brussels. They just wanted to skate and play “back yard” hockey and to have fun among themselves and their kids. They wore no protection at that time, only skates, stick and puck. After a friendly game some time around 1996, final score 19-0 for Team Finlande, the team was invited to attend Championnat JC.

Sure, there are a lot of Lions, Tigers and Bears among our TeamSnap teams, but every once in a while we come across a team name that, frankly, makes us laugh out loud. So today we’d like to take a break from posting about new features to ask you to post your funny team name (or if not yours, a funny team name that you know of).
